Anyone recommend the best BPL player to play as CF in 4-2-3-1? I currently have Podolski and Torres playing in that position. I have Remy, Hernandez, Ba, Bent, Mirallas and Kone as ST, is it worth converting one of those to play at CF??

I use Suarez + Taarabt. Taarabt is better!

Anyone got any thoughts on this...

This is the rest of the team for my Ronnie - Messi - Di Maria front 3. I'm unsure whether having Xabi Alonso alongside Busquets will be good enough, or whether I need someone with more pace to help out the defence (I fear Alonso will get bypassed easily). If the team plays well enough and I decide to keep it I'll probably look to replace Miranda with Ramos and maybe get Dani Alves in at RB as well.

Here's a question for you all. I know most people think there is a handicap in the game that punishes stronger teams when they come up against weaker teams. I saw it myself last night when Ribery and Robben had first touches like a brick wall instead of their usual silky goodness. Does anyone have any theories on whether it's based on the players in your first 11, or the rating of your team? Or, has anyone loaded their bench with rubbish players and noticed an improvement in the play of their first 11 as the handicap has less effect?

The main reason I ask is that I just put my new 4-3-2-1 team together with the other team on the bench, and now my team rating is 87! I'm a little worried that the handicap will make my team play like idiots because it's so highly rated.

Before I rage sold my La Liga and BPL teams I tried to get the best players in it, and as a result, my team rating was usually quite high - about 85. I struggled in lots of matches against weaker teams and regularly rage walked away from matches. I decided to give it another go a couple of weeks ago and now have a Serie A team and (new) BPL team. I manage them so that the team rating doesn't go over 81-82 (my sub keeper is Bronze player as he's never used). I am now winning so many more matches, won League 1 for the 1st time with only 1 defeat and rarely get any rage at all. I'm no great player, haven't changed how I play or the formation I use. The other day I played against a team with 5 black/blue players including Ronaldo and stuffed them 4-1. Their players were poor, not in what they tried to do but how they did it (control, through balls etc...). Of course I have no real proof but I'm positive that there is some balancing done for the weaker teams so that is why I'm careful in how I set my team up.

That very much matches up with how I feel at times. I had a match last night with my 85 rated team against an 84 rated BPL team, and I stuffed him, whereas the match before my players were like the aforementioned brick walls when it came to control and ability. Maybe I should just load my bench with rubbish bronze players and test it out over a few matches.

Edit: I've just changed one team from a 5 star 86 rated team to a 4.5 star 80 rated team just by loading the bench with the rubbish bronze players I have. I'll do some testing tonight and see if they play any differently.

I would get rid of Alonso and get Modric. A H/M would be fine in that formation as you will have Busquets who just is always in the right position (or at least he was when I used him!). I'm not an expert on how 4321 plays so I can't really comment too much though. Ramos for Miranda and D Alves in like you say, if you get on with it. Looks alright otherwise :)

Yeah I have very similar. I have a bronze lad on my bench to keep rating down :D. 83 at the very maximum for me, although I aim for 81/82 if possible. I had a 86 rated La Liga team and it played like dog. Swapped a few high rated players out (Benzema for Adrian, Iniesta for Guardardo, Ramos for Miranda) and loaded my bench with 75-80 rated players... played much better. There's definitely a form of balancing that goes on, or scripting, to keep people interested and playing. People interested and playing = money to EA.

With all this talk of team handicaps for expensive players I fancy trying something different.

Lets see what people can come up with for a 7.5k team, the price of one pack?

I despair at some players on this game, someone gets an undeserved equaliser and gives me all the shush and cupping ears celebrations, as if he wants to spur me on more to beat him :p

Please add Ramos and Alves and let me play counter attacking football against that team.

I like this challenge. Got 8.3k...could drop Miccolli for Cossu, and go cheaper at the back to get under 7.5, but it's nice having them there so cheaply!

Ooh, 7.2k...not a horrible team either, although the CDMs aren't the best!
