Hello everyone, I few months ago I looked into building a PC but couldn't get round to ordering due to work. Anyway i'm back again looking for a bit of advice with the latest parts and best bang for buck!

Ideally i would like the build to be around £1150, I do NOT require a monitor, keyboard, mouse, or an OS.

The Corsair Obsidian 650D seems to have good reviews and looks decent, so i would like to have this case, but the rest i am unsure of. I don't think I want to wait for Haswell to be released either.

I will be using the PC for games of all genres.

Thanks in advance guys and gals! :)

What do you guys think of this spec? My friend has put it together but i think i will swap the i7 for an i5.

ExRayTed, Whats with the motherboard and SSD choice?

No reason for a mATX motherboard...

There are also better SSD's for the money, including the Toshiba and the Samsung.

the problem is i keep waiting for things and i have a brief period now to build something, so i thought the i5 will last a few years at least anyway, and will be cheaper and more stable than the haswell.

Fair point.

I don't know what you mean about more stable though....

It will still last a long while.

Haswell is only a few days away now surely? (must be?)

So would it not be worth waiting to see what's going on once the chips are available? :)

My plan was to order today and build on Monday as i have a day off, but earliest is tuesday =( forgot it was a bank holiday in England =P. I have bought a new guitar today so I guess i'll put off building it for another few weeks, maybe see what the haswell chip has to offer.

Thanks for all the responses got a good idea what to expect to build!
