Nvidia pricing is a joke?

On 20NM, given history, the chances are the X950 will be as fast as the GTX Titan.
His statement would be advocating a 550 pound second tier card.

I think pricing is completely ridiculous with Nvidia at the moment, as was AMD's launch 79XX pricing.

Nvidia's launch GTX680 was the most reasonable.

I agree- £550 would be ridiculous, I'm just pointing out that people are purposefully misrepresenting his argument to make it look like he's talking rubbish.

The Titan is a rip off, the 780 is a rip off.

There is those who can afford it and don't care, but buy it anyway

Those who really shouldn't be buying it, but buy it anyway.

Those who will not buy and stick their guns (and probably afford it)

Those that really don't need one.

And those who moan on these forums that had no intention of buying it anyway.

Will all this stop Nvidia Ripping customers off and stop the Nsheep buying their products? answer is No!

Get used to this pricing unless AMD are nice and bring out something faster and cheaper.

If AMD bring out a faster product you can bet they will go the same greedy way as nvidia and charge 5 to 600 quid for it, look how they priced the 7990.

Well said. With the 7990 priced as it is, it is looking slim for AMD to do any of us any favours and they will command a higher price when they release 20nm (£550 is fine though). I have bleated on before and I will bleat on again. Neither AMD or Nvidia give two hoots about us and are out to make a profit.

I think where AMD priced the 7990 everyone in this thread agreed it was way to much.

Funny how we can all come to an agreement when AMD priced some thing at a ripoff prices (while still being less that the GTX Titan) we can all get along at that.

But when Nvidia do it and people start to criticise it the usual suspects see red. perhaps with a green tint

They probably will go the NVIDIA way. Just like the power companies. A cartel. Competition seems to becoming a thing of the past.

7970 is what I finally settled on.
But I've had and used 680 SLI/ 7970 Crossfire/7950 Crossfire (And single GPU of all those)

Mine was 299.99.

Nice. Reminds me of the GeForce 3 prices.

Well yes.
Now whether a person can afford it is totally irreverent to having an opinion on pricing.

I paid £1900 for my cards, do i think they were Value for money... no, did i need the extra 2GB of Vram... yes, does that make the Price okay...no.

I bought them because i flat out needed them and there was no alternative with the Vram i needed, if there was standard AMD versions with the extra 2GB of Vram i would have bought them and saved myself £800 instead of the super special 1000 only made editions.

Just because someone can afford and is willing to buy does not mean that its a good Price or Value in any shape or form.

Agreed, when AMD bring out the 780/Titan killer (If they do)

It's not going to be cheaper that's for sure, I said it here.. it's going to be a 600 quid card.

You did the same things earlier regarding people who wrote their points wrongly, accusing people of not being able to afford the 780 etc...even though that's not what they meant. (i did the same thing, and got pulled up by you for doing it)

Nope, not the same thing at all. It looked like you were pulling out the "can't afford" card because of how you phrased it, you clarified that you didn't mean that.

Humbug's saying something that people are taking out of context to try and make him look stupid, and I think it's clear what he meant.

For real? I have watched you pick at posts because they weren't absolute on so many threads but someone else wants it and they are wrong? Double standards much?

Fo' rizeal. No double standards either. You purposefully are misrepresenting what he's said.

It's clear he's saying £550's insane for a graphics card (insane doesn't mean wrong, bad or whatever), but compared to the GTX780, if AMD bring out a card that's faster than the Titan at £550 it'd be fine relative to the 780.

I'm not saying he's right or wrong, just that it's clear what he means.

Indeed.

Perhaps at this point he is incapable of reading straight.

Sorry but you are wrong.

How can £550 be insane one minute but £550 is fine another? Being absolute is one thing but that just doesn't add up however you look at it. You are also answering for him, which makes out he is stupid, as he can't answer his own questions or back up his statements.

I'm not wrong. You do understand what relative means don't you?

Oh, so that's what you're doing when you answer for people?

There's no positive connotations for insane...that's definitely a negative :D
I don't understand how on one foot it's too much for a card and on the other with enough FPS comparatively it's ok...

Maybe it's just me.

No one is forcing you to buy one, you can get second hand 680's for £250 and brand new, with deals for around 360....

it's new tech, it's not essential, its a luxury more than anything else, personally when I've seen the haswell bundles I may well just add a second 680 to my setup as they might be even cheaper in a few months.

Relative, it's relative. I'm not saying it's cool, fine, good or whatever.

£550 is a a crazy amount money for a graphics card, is what he's saying.

Especially considering its performance. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if it was a lot faster.

That's what he's saying.

Also, I think the price for the 3930k is insane, but I have one, see how it works?

A few of the people around here who have Titans think its price is insane, but it didn't stop them from buying.

Going for a straw man argument Spoffle? :D

Go look up what straw man means.

It's not new tech, that's kinda the issue people are having.
