Nvidia pricing is a joke?

That is a joke of a price and anyone who pays that is stupid!!! :D

Titan is a different beast to the GTX 780 , despite sharing a common `heart` - Titan was born for compute , and ended up in retail so it can game and can do other lovely stuff and well.

gtx 780 is a gaming card through and through (I wonder if the DP has been hard locked or maybe modable - ala Quadro days)

You're telling me, glad i waited 16 months for the prices to come down  :D

But I think the 20nm AMD GPU's will be significantly faster than the GTX Titan so £550 is fine.

And £800+ or £550+ is insane no mater what way you cut it.

^Not sure what to make of those somewhat contradictory posts though...

Everyone would LIKE it to be cheaper.

This does not mean it SHOULD be cheaper. Quit yah whining!

Wait 6 months and buy when prices drop. If you cannot wait, pay.

Im not trying to cause an arguement but the GTX680 hasent dropped in price in over a year. Nvidia have just brought out cards with raised prices & kept everything the same. In 6 months will the prices drop? Possibly.

£20 says they wont drop for NV - got to keep those nice profit margins ;)

PC industry is going down in the last 2 years and these prices wont help it go up in the future thats all about not about 90% of people not being able to buy the new cards now or 1 year from now knowing that prices wont go down by a huge amount.

That's because they're still selling well, no need to drop price on a product that's selling as expected, AMD have done a lot this gen to help bring there name out of the bin...unfortunately they still have a bad rep for drivers etc, it's going to take more than 1 gen of beating Nvidia for people to up and leave when that happens hopefully we will see some proper price wars where both sides slash to try and get back every customer.

That's my take on it anyway.

they are not contradictory posts, you have quoted out of context to make it look like its a contradiction to further your argument.

I'm talking about a GPU @ £550 with significantly higher performance than that 780 @ £550, would be fine.

I have the money for a 780, I just refuse to be ripped off ;)

In a way graphics cards remind me of car prices now. Soon as it's out the showroom it's lost a lot of value.

When people are willing to pay £1000 for a gpu they unwillingly inflate the prices.

I find that frighteningly scary. Wasn't that long ago you had endless threads, spec me a pc for £1,000.

The majority won't buy a 780, period. The majority don't buy high-end. There are probably more people with 650Ti/660 cards than 670,680, Titan, etc, put together.

It's a very expensive toy for those for whom money is not really an issue.

Let's face it, even on an enthusiast forum, a lot more people will buy a PS4 than sink the equivalent money into a gfx card.

It's always these certain same kind that insult console owners... then complain consoles hold back PC gaming.

Don't want, don't buy.

Cannot afford, cannot buy.

Simple really. Not sure why people have this sense of entitlement with regards to being able to buy the latest GPUs as they come out on Day-1.

What are you walking about? £550 for a GPU faster than the one @ £800+

If we get down the slope of charging more per performance per generation, it's going to get insane.
600 pound this time, 700 pound next time, 800 pound, etc.

It's just exploitation.

We're like 18 months from when the 7970 debuted, it's absolutely ridiculous, that we're getting bent over for a meagre performance increase over it for a ridiculous price.

Obviously I agree, but I think there has to be some give to account for inflation over time and higher production costs. :)

So small inflation's in price is understandable if you are getting a lot more GPU.

When I looked every single one was £999, where did you get yours? they have come down now.....

BTW, there is a 7970 in your historic 7970 price list for £419. :)

I wouldn't mind the 8/9970 @ £450-£500 if its as fast or faster than the GTX Titan.

But I think the 20nm AMD GPU's will be significantly faster than the GTX Titan so £550 is fine.

So £550 is fine but £550 is insane for a GPU :D

What Humbug means is £550 is fine for an AMD GPU because it is made by AMD and AMD are great and AMD are what I like to put in my machine and AMD are huggable....

You know what he's saying, quit with the straw-man examples.

He's said £550's insane for a GPU, but relative to greater than Titan performance is fine in that regard.

Stop being so absolute about statements made.

On 20NM, given history, the chances are the X950 will be as fast as the GTX Titan.
His statement would be advocating a 550 pound second tier card.

I think pricing is completely ridiculous with Nvidia at the moment, as was AMD's launch 79XX pricing.

Nvidia's launch GTX680 was the most reasonable.

Funny when the debate is lost some will try and twist what your saying to save face.

It feels like a creche in here sometimes.

You did the same things earlier regarding people who wrote their points wrongly, accusing people of not being able to afford the 780 etc...even though that's not what they meant. (i did the same thing, and got pulled up by you for doing it)

For real? I have watched you pick at posts because they wasn't absolute on so many threads but someone else wants it and they are wrong? Double standards much?

The Titan is a rip off, the 780 is a rip off.

There is those who can afford it and don't care, but buy it anyway

Those who really shouldn't be buying it, but buy it anyway.

Those who will not buy and stick their guns (and probably afford it)

Those that really don't need one.

And those who moan on these forums that had no intention of buying it anyway.

Will all this stop Nvidia Ripping customers off and stop the Nsheep buying their products? answer is No!

Get used to this pricing unless AMD are nice and bring out something faster and cheaper.

If AMD bring out a faster product you can bet they will go the same greedy way as nvidia and charge 5 to 600 quid for it, look how they priced the 7990.
