Angelina Jolie has double mastectomy

Something just occurred to me:

She has had 4 kids or whatever and presumably breastfed them. According to studies her risk of breast cancer is much lower just because of doing that. And the more kids you have breastfed the lower the risk gets.

So maybe she did this for nothing?

Although several studies have found that lactation is protective against breast cancer, the new report found little effect for premenopausal women over all. But for women with an immediate relative, like a mother or a sister, who had breast cancer, those who breast-fed had a 59 percent lower risk of premenopausal breast cancer. That is closer in line with the risk for women who had no disease in the family, the study found.

Like I said when this was mentioned before, it depends what you stand to lose by not getting on the plane. In that scenario, if it was 'get on the plane, or all women will lose their breasts and all men lose their testicles', I suspect that the number of people willing to get on the plane would increase.
 
Just been announced that Jolies aunt has died from breast cancer, so that very much probably swung her decision as no doubt that would have been ongoing for a while...

Because they're immature. :)

I wish her all the best, and good on her for putting her family first and being proactive. Huge decision, and hope that she's managed to prevent her cancer from happening at all.
 
As I said before, my thoughts with the woman. I don't particularly like her, but I wish her all the best.

I am more concerned about the poor women who suffer from this without the numerous options and aftercare treatment that this woman has thiough...
