Newborn Baby Flushed Down The Toilet

Baby boy? wow - that is very surprising - I thought in China boys were prized and it was the girls who were abandoned

This must have been a really extreme decision - thats sad :(

China has strict family planning rules, with the one-child policy in place for more than three decades. Although there are a number of exceptions, couples can face fines if they violate the policy.

Im guessing they were going to be prosecuted for having another child and the fine would have ruined them so the decision was to get rid of the newborn to save the rest of the family

That is a very sad situation but they should have found a better way than flushing him down the toilet...

Until the person who did it is found it's pretty hard to know what to think (could have been somebody severely mentally ill, a child born out of rape etc).

It may be related to the single child policy, or it may be random chance to occur in China (not that unlikely due to the population size).

Either way, horrible situation & glad the kid seems to be making a recovery.
 
That is actually disgusting, i have a son, and even seeing him fall over makes me sad, the fact that the parents could even contemplate flushing their newborn down a toilet infuriates me, the world is full of sick creatures (can't even describe them as human), I'm not sure what the law is in china, but something like this should be punishable by death.
 
I can't begin to imagine the torment they must have gone through to make that decision. Flushing a new born Down the toilet?! Something must have driven them to do that, i don't think people are so callous no matter who they are. However irrespective of that, and whatever the reasons for doing so, you cannot treat life in such a carefree manner.

It's tragic that these things happen in the world.

Though the ray of hope that this baby survived is something to be praising. :)
