Hi all,

I currently have a single GTX 570 HD 2560MB and I am wondering about how SLI of these would compare to one of the new cards that are coming out now? Like the 780?

Would a GTX 780 smash two of my cards?

Thanks,

G

Dual 7950's should smash dual 570's and a single 780 and be cheaper then the latter ;)

Tbh I'd wait and see what the 760ti brings to the table...

Bit on the fence on this one as the extra VRAM (assuming you can get another 2560MB one) lets you make full use of the core performance whereas the 1280MB variant would be held back by the VRAM somewhat.

TBH if you can source a 2nd card reasonably cheaply I'd be tempted to go that route and wait for maxwell before spending a chunk of cash. (I'm a little bias here as my GTX675m - basically same core as the 560/570 but clocked down/slightly less SPs - has worked absolutely flawlessly with every game thats been released recently whereas the kepler GPUs I've had anything to do with have had some issues).

For now i would try and get another 570 on the cheap and wait till the new 20nm gpu's come to the market as then you will see a really nice gain from a single card.

Would my antec hcg-750 psu suffice?

Ideally I want to be able to play BF4 on 27" super HD as cheap as possible.

I'd be tempted by 570 sli. Tagteam thunder! Maybe wait for rest of 7xx series to see prices and await second hand prices for 570 to drop.

What is that site that shows a big chart of GPU's and in order of performance and shows SLI results too?

Thanks,

G

570 2.5GB never seems to feature anywhere, let alone in SLI.

Would it beat a single 680?

Would I be an idiot to spend up to £200 on getting another 570 2.5GB?

It might, but not by much if anything.

I think the best thing you could do is sell the GTX 570 and add that to your £200, get yourself a GTX 670/680 / 7950/7970 and you may have change left over.

HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB GDDR5 £240

Sapphire HD 7950 Boost 3072MB £248

HIS HD 7970 IceQ X² 3072MB GDDR5 £330

Nvidia-

KFA2 GeForce GTX 670 EX OC 2048MB £288

EVGA GeForce GTX 670 FTW Signature 2 2048MB £320

EVGA GeForce GTX 680 SC Signature TWO 2048MB £420

The 7950 has similar performance to the GTX 670, both the 7950 and GTX 670 are only a few % slower than the 7970/GTX 680 clock for clock and are not worth the £100 premium.

If you can't get hold of one under £200 then I'd be more inclined to put the money together for a newer single card. Might be worth holding on for the GTX770 release to see what, if anything, that does for prices.
