Which I5 for Z77 Board ?

Hi all, building a Pc for a friend,

got about £150 or less to spend on a chip for a Z77 Board,

looking at I5 2500k which is sandybridge (Used) £110

or maybe a I5 3330 Ivybridge (NEW) £150

which would i be better with? pc would be used for gaming.

i read somewhere about the Ivybridge being able to use PCIe 3.0 on a Z77 board where as the Sandybridge can only use PCIe 2.0 ?

Who knows.
But it makes more sense to wait. Unless you've already got the board?

Even if Haswell turns out to be too expensive/you already have the board, it should at least cause some price drops potentially for second hand values of SB/IB CPUs.

As others have said I would wait it out until Monday, worst case scenario, you buy the same product you were going to buy, but likely cheaper.

I see lots of people selling their I5s/I7s gen1,2 and 3 to get a Haswell... so for sure waiting 7 days wouldn't hurt.
