Toyota & VVTL-i Owners.....

Don't think this is up on here yet so here goes.

I've just bought a Toyota Corolla TS Facelift. I will get some pictures up of it when I get chance.

Next!

I sold mine last November and bought a Civic Type-R FN2 huge mistake I miss the corolla loads and would love another, ended up selling the civic and now have an accord which im tempted to sell to find another corolla or Celica but they're getting old now unfortunately

I have a Yaris SR, 1.8L Dual VVT-i.

Still love it after 2 years of ownership. Never miss a beat and the way it is going, it would be silly to let go as it's not really worth a huge amount of money and at least I know the history to mine.

Dug up some old pics.

Well looks like this thread died a boring death. Thought there might be a few others on here that own a Lotus or something.

Got a lot of things to do to my corolla to get it up to shape.

VVTL-i just kicked in yo!

Yes, I have since lowered it. No pics to hand. Tbh it's a pretty great car, had it for over 3 years now has been incredibly reliable and is a nice combination of economical most of the time with lairy revs when required. Only problem is now after 2 years of sitting in rush hour traffic and being a lazy graduate I've let it slip a bit condition wise. It is old I guess, but the paint isn't in great nick any more and I just don't have the time/desire to keep it properly tidy anymore :(. Due an upgrade soon anyway.

What?! You only posted it today!

Perhaps in a week you could have declared that but a few hours after the last post?

I was only joking. I'll be putting some pictures up as soon as I can. Hoping to do that as soon as it stops raining.

Enjoy. Had my TSport for 3 years and I enjoyed it. Lowered it. Had a tte back box plus white line rarb and fujita intake. Sounded crazy above 6200 rpm. Funky car with relatively low insurance.

Not the VVTL-i then ;)

Figured I may as well jump in here, i've had my Celica T Sport for a couple of years now.

It's the VVTL-I engine, its got a fair old list of uprated and modified parts including Se7en's stage two cams(http://www.se7enmotorsports.co.uk), full PPE ss exhaust to manifold with sports cat, lightened flywheel, lowered 30mm and a few other things that i'm probably forgetting.

I've been very happy with the car so far, the engines characteristics arent for everyone, as standard you really do have to work the rpm's to get anywhere quickly but the stage 2 cams made a huge difference.

Maybe a mod should change this to a Toyota owners thread as I have not seen one around.

A face lift T-Sport is on the cards as a daily as I am in the process of changing jobs which means we only need 2 cars instead of 3. (With a Se7en stage 2 cam install)

Anyhow here is my 3SGTE in a more natural environment .

There was a big thread on PH a while back about the Corolla T-Sport. It was disliked by the overwhelming majority (including plenty of owners) main due to it's soggy handling, dead steering, poor gear ratios and tendency for high oil consumption. Essentially nothing to recommend it over an EP3 in terms of driving.

On the way to work today I thought I'd take the corolla for its first official run. The road opened up and I floored it.
Wow! Very happy but I think that I will be getting points sooner rather than later.

I chose it because it is barely a change in insurance costs. Has a few more bits and bobs over an ep3, handling isn't as bad as people say and its a rarer car.
Don't get me wrong the ep3 is the better handling car and is quicker but the corolla is a little more refined when you need it to be.
