Yes I did. And what you're assuming (wrongly unsurprisingly) is that I'm trying to justify it. I'm not

So what if they were rich? What's that go to do with the price of fish? There's so much more to it than just wealth in terms of behavioural issues. You don't have to be poor and on the bread line to be desperate or behave in an irrational and non-qualitative manner.

My point which you seem to be missing is that in general people are not evil. They are led down a path that is considered evil owing to a multitude of mitigating circumstances. I'm not saying it's right. Some of the world's most prominent and intelligent people had borderline personalities it doesn't make them killers but it does lead them to have different behaviour patterns.

I've seen evil in the world I've spent many occasions in the middle east face to face almost with rocket attacks and civil warfare - I still think that in spite of wars and genocides people are not generally evil but are pushed that way for whatever reasons (that I cannot explain).

It's tragic and sad that these things happen it does disturb me and make me sad that such things occur but I hold onto the strength and comfort that I know this is a minority and that good generally prevails - if it didn't we'd all be cheering at this rather than condemning it.

It has been known for women to give birth without expecting to especially when faced with strenuous bowel movements.

I'm going to hope that this is the case and hope they are reunited. I'm just in awe that a new born can survive that. It really is just amazing what resilience we have yet so frail at the same time

He's not dead, he is alive.
Thus far they are saying she hid her pregnancy, and she gave birth in a toilet.
She is unmarried.
The father is as yet unknown.
Charges may follow, they haven't established if it is malicious yet.

I assume the initially reported story is completely different to the one I read. As many of the comments are talking of awful parents, and making reference to things not reported.


Here we have an unmarried girl, in trouble, pregnant, hiding it, giving birth in a toilet, and a disaster follows. A rescue follows, and the child is well.
The questions behind the event haven't been answered yet, as they haven't been asked yet.

Babies are actually surprisingly tough (And also surprisingly strong! They may look a bit like the Staypuft man but they are actually built like little Sumo wrestlers!)

I have tried to find it (and failed) but a couple of years ago I saw a clip of a baby climbing out of his cot. he must have made a dead fall of over 4 feet! Not a whimper! Just got up and carried on! :p My Mother was very interested because she could never figure out how I did this when I was little!

I'm amazed the baby is still alive, you'd think it would have died either by being stuck inside a pipe, from drowning or afterwards from an infection of some sort.

However it survived, I'm now hoping this baby grows up to be a super human being. :D
 
Incredibly sad event but it gets you thinking. How many live babies have been flushed and not been found? Absolutely speechless
 
Suggestions that the child had been dumped have been revised after it emerged that the 22-year-old unmarried mother of the baby was the one who raised the alarm.

According to a police source in Jinhua, in the eastern province of Zhejiang, the woman gave birth unexpectedly when she went to the lavatory on Saturday, and the newborn fell into the squat toilet.

Consider the following "Thought experiment"

Go up to a (Hypothetical) Woman who has just experienced a first trimester miscarriage.

Try telling her that her "Baby" was only tissue and therefore wasn't alive! Report the (Thought experiment) response!

(Assuming that your "Thought experiment" eyes are still in your "Thought experiment" face)

Oh, and please don't confuse me with anybody else. I am perfectly willing to consider arguments as to why Parents should have the right to kill unwanted children. it is the Sophistry that currently surrounds the act that I cannot stand!
