As i said, no one but the support drops even 1 ward in the 1200-1300 bracket.

thats a lie, im in that bracket and probably 2 in 10 games will no one but the support be warding and if members aren't warding ask them nicely.
Either way even if they arent 15 wards is a no no , you just dont need that map coverage.

I'm around Silver 3-4 atm and I agree it is very rare that that the support is the only 1 that buys them, not that the other lanes ward as much as they should but generally they do buy some.

It's the least desired because people believe that it's the ADC that wins bot lane and that the support is just there to ward and heal them. If people were to actually give it a chance and do it properly rather then picking Nidalee and going straight AP they might enjoy it :p

I personally don't find the lack of items to much of a problem because you don't need them. Most of the time you're there to provide some sort of CC or buff anyway and these don't directly benefit from having more AD or AP.

If you can play a support well it's honestly one of the most rewarding roles you can play.

Pretty much spot on, levels 1-6 are usually decided by which support plays better in bot lane, I kinda main ADC (well it's my most played role) and supports are the 1's carrying the ADC early on.

Anyone fancy a mini 1v1 tournament tonight?

Rules.

Summoners rift mid lane.
Any champion can be played.
The game will be blind pick, but each person will be able to ban 3 champions before the champion select stage begins.
First person to get either, first blood, 100 cs or destroy the first turret wins and will advance to the next round. The loser of that game will face the loser of another.

So far i have between 5-8 people. If i get enough interest here, i'll put the names into a hat and draw them out to determine who is facing who first.

Ugh, mid lane. I'd probably be up for it if I was around though, would be a good laugh.

What I will say is that you don't use "100 CS" as a winning condition, 30 CS ahead is usually a better benchmark. No real point in declaring someone a winner when they used all their abilities to clear a wave and are about to die just to instead win 100 CS - 96.

You can play any champion, not just mid lane champions if thats what you meant by " ugh mid lane. " :)

yeah that actually sounds like a better idea with the CS.

I'm not sure if i have you in game yet, but add me, DG Proxeum.

We'll have to agree to disagree, only in the laning phase have i ever seen anyone ward anything, and thats only because they dont want to be ganked.

It's a common misconception of the support role that you are entirely responsible for warding. It's another reason why people won't want to support because you're destined to be moaned at for bad map vision when no-one will help you ward. You should always have wards and make an effort to ensure the key areas are always warded but you can't realistically ward everything.

+1

I think everyone has a responsibility to create vision besides possibly the ADC in early/mid game. If the support was the only person warding then they would never have gold to buy any items.

If there is one think I can't stand it is people whining that they died to a gank when they don't a, pay attention to pings and b, don't ward. Realistically you should be looking at every lane on the minimap regularly to get an idea of enemy positions.

As an ADC I always get a green/pink ward or 2 when I back while laning, it takes a lot of pressure of the support early where gold income is still slow as no sightstone/GP10 ticking.

It SHOULD be standard practice for every single role to buy wards. If you have 75G spare and an item slot there is no reason to not buy one. It's so frustrating when everyone has spare item slots and spare cash but they still wont ward

A few mates have been trying to get me to play this for ages but it sounds dire. One of those games everyone will say is crap and then once they play it they get hooked and then suddenly will say it's good. Is it actually fun or do you guys just play because you're addicted to it?

A few questions though...

1. What's the learning curve like as the people who want me to play have been playing pretty much since it came out?

2. How big is the download?

3. Can you honestly recommend this game to somebody who's top multiplayer games have been CS and D2?

Thanks for any replies.

I play it because i get great enjoyment from the game, not only do i love the gameplay i also love the stort behind each champion, i don't play because im addicted, i play because its competitive and fun.

1. the learning curve is easy, but its fairly hard to become really good, thats my opinion anyway.

2. i cant remember the exact size of the download, but it's pretty small.

3. My girlfriend who has never played online games, only single player, can play it, so yes i can recommend it.

I'd go into more detail about the game, but i can only suggest you try it for yourself and see what you think.

I think the only way you will decide if you will like it is if you give it a go :)

Doesn't take long to get the basics down, and once you do you absorb the rest through just playing.

Just remember to ignore the people that will rage at you and enjoy the game :)

It is fun, but the reason I've played it for so long is because it is addictive, if it wasn't for the people I now play with I probably would have stopped playing by now because playing solo can be very painful.

Hmm. Cheers guys, appreciate it.

Reading on other forums i hear the first 5-10 games will be rubbish because you have no idea what you're doing and by then you'll start to pick things up like positioning and it'll become more enjoyable and by then you're addicted.

I always avoided WoW because of what it did to so many of my old CS clan mates and this game seems to be the same and i'm not sure if i want to get tangled in it lol. (excuse the pun).

Well it is addictive, but at the same time is absolutely free to play and don't have to spend 1000's of hours to get a high level (everyone starts off on level playing field each game, though you go gain levels but that's for match making purposes)

Well worth it and fun game to play

Im the perfect person to help you, i love fps its all i play and am med+ skill level id say, my mates said i had to try it so i looked at a few gameplay vids and thought yea ok whatever and left it. 6 weeks ago i finnaly gave in and its all i've played non stop for that time and love it! Yea its addictive but thats a good thing even more so as its free! Although i've dropped 70quid on champs and skins but thats by the by. The learning curve is steep for sure theres so much to learn i dont know much yet with regards playing properly and try harding but i still have a lot of fun with it. Size is just under 4gig with the game and then updates (or at least thats the size of my lol folder) The one thing i hate is moba mad players some players are uber serious about that game and will go mad at you for doing somthing wrong, as with all trolls dont feed them (easyer said than done) Just play the tutorial and play begginer bot games till you get the feel of it.

Try it whats the worse that can happen? ;)
