hey

I currently have the below specs. i have a 6950 2gb at the moment whats overclocked to 840mhz and looking for some advice. I mainly play BF3 & Cod and was looking to upgrade before BF4 comes out. I been looking at reviews of the 7950 and seems to be a good overclocker and is as quick as a 7970? But ... my question is do i get a 7950 and overclock it or do i get a 7970 and do the same ? i have not seen the 7970 overclock as well ... so what you reckon ? or do i wait for the 8000 series ?

cheers

Between the 2 you mentioned, 7950 would be my call :)

interesting comments ... so why not the 7970 then ? does it not overclock at well as 7950 ? i am looking for the best overclocker and a voltage unlocked card ? i run 2 Dell 23 inch LED Monitors also

it does overclock well... but do you think 3 to 6% performance more worth £100.00?

I don't..

that is why I have 2x7950 instead 2x7970 and for the price of 2x7970 I can get 3x7950.

7950 it is then ... on that note what card do you recommend then ? looking to overclocking it as much as i can but possible watercool in the future . i am running 2 Dell UltraSharp U2312HM 23 monitors DVI on my current GPU

Having tried both, (7970 and two different 7950's) 7970 for me all day long if you're only going for one card. If you plan to get xfire in the future or you're buying on a budget then get a 7950 for the money saved, decreased temps, lower power usage (green and proud of it) and the fact you get 8 free games to sell. 8 games will net you some serious dosh back to spend on hookers or whatever.

This has been useful for me to decide on the same question. When I look at the performance figures I struggle to see why the 7970 is worth the extra money unless you are trying to squeeze every last FPS out of a system.
