Went to Avebury stone circle today. As we approached the circle the Satnav signal failed and there was no phone signal on either my mobile of the GF's.

It was tipping down and after a soaking walk around the stones we retreated back to the car to eat our picnic. No FM signal on the radio, the only thing it would tune into was Radio Wales and when it did the lady was talking about STANDING STONES being erected in Snowdonia.

As soon as we drove away from the area both phones came back online, as did the satnav and FM radio.

I now believe, but wish I'd made a little tinfoil hat from the picnic stuff for protection whilst in the zone.

OMG

The same thing happened to me in the highlands of Scotland last year.
No mobile phone signal, tomtom stopped working and no radio.

And no I don't think being in the middle of nowhere and really bad cloud cover and weather had anything to do with it

My money's on underground deposits. Always consider the underground deposits, especially if you are near any ground.

Another strange thing, I opted to walk around the outside of the circle of stones, rather than inside the circle, which most of the other visitors were doing.

At the time I thought this was due to the fact the inner track was muddy and I'd forgotten to bring some old trainers, but now I'm not so sure..

Same thing happened to me.

I was near Avebury and on the radio was un-intellectual drivel, out of date songs and echoes of irritating adverts. Turns out I was tuned into Heart-FM.
