I've been running tri-fire 7970s since November last year with no issues other than the scaling from 2 to 3 cards, but that's a driver issue which they should hopefully resolve *soon*
 
One of my 5970 has kicked the bucket after 3 years of abuse.
I was hoping to hold out for what AMD have next but i have gone for 3 of these
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-203-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1673 cheap stopgap until when i can go back to my Quadfire dual card goodness and they better not drag there feet in getting the next dual cards out.

So im in the same boat as some of you for the time being and lets see what this wakeup and zero core issues are about.
 
^^ Youtube videos don't really show it too well - the high framerate downloadable versions its much more apparent.

Well I hope it works well, going 7970 xfire in a week or 2 (both under water)

I also might have a 7950 coming my way so could be tempted to tri-fire or sell it.

Would a 1000w psu be enough for 3 of them?
