Screenshots are out
Sure is - I'm tied up the whole day tomorrow with car maintenance, so if you do it I'd love to know what methods/recovery you used.
Is it ok just to flash a custom recovery via odin then flash a rooted custom rom (non wipe)?
I'm going to check if it's the same way as rooting the S3 so will have to do a bit of reading. Will let you know when I've rooted it though Mate. Good luck with the car maintenance that's your whole day gone!

You can always follow the instructions on this video which is extremely helpful
@stoosh
Can't have too many cases![]()
What I meant was wanam is always a safe bet for stability and a daily driver, it's what I've been using and it's great. I'm comfortably getting 7 hours or so screen time with moderate to heavy usage.
I've posted the screenshots in my previous post check it out!
If you need help rooting and such let me know, but the process I followed was:
Install CF-Auto Root -> Install TWRP -> Install Wanamlite -> Wipe Cache/Dalvik-> Install domination
Awesome screenshots Mate! JB Dom looks amazing and so fresh
That's pushed me to rooting my S4 and installing Wanam and JB Dom. Thanks for the screenshots, nice wallpaper by the way
Exactly Dude you can't have too many cases that's the mantra I live by

For sure Wanam's a safe bet for stability and you hit the nail on the head as it's the best ROM out there right know to use as a daily driver as pretty much everything works.
Thanks for the offer of help re rooting Mate, will give it a go and let you know how I get on. I take it that I have to flash CF-Auto Root via Odin as Kona previously mentioned?
@Nexus HTC do the strangest things sometimes and I don't understand their logic behind their decisions. This is the kind of thing that really puts consumers off products, they should try and do things right the first time around. If the 3 dot menu wasn't in older firmwares and there I believe there was an option to remove the 3 dot menu in pre release firmware, they should've kept it in there. Maybe in the next firmware the menu will be banished forever
Thanks for the lightroom video the guide is certainly very helpful, will have to install it when I get a chance but then again I really don't take many pictures so I better get out there and start using the S4 camera to take full advantage.
The Optimus G is a great phone but again you're at the mercy of LG's shoddy support and Sony well the less said about them and their software update policy the better

The price of the S4 will inevitably drop and by then you can make an informed decision based on all the options available to you.

The Oppo Find 5 is the dark horse in the race and no doubt all the issues will be fixed but by then there will be other options available in terms of the X Phone which you may find is the device of the two.
Yes you can always flash your HOS to get the most out of the device and improve its longevity or get the Nexus 5 if vanilla android is your thing. There's a wealth of options to chose from and the best part of it all is that you can either save money or get the best device out there which will be great in terms of support and have the latest software available for it.
Hell you might even put the HTC Phablet on your shopping list...that massive screen, Snapdragon 800 and KLP!!!

I have a funny feeling we won't see much of a drop for a while (apart from maybe one of bargains/sales) due to how popular this is selling even at £550+, why drop the price when it is selling like hotcakes and expected to sell 80 million for 2013
It is much like apple and their pricing strategy, they have the price so high because they know that most people will buy it regardless of the price
