Would be logical to assume so, supposed to be released in a couple of weeks time aren't they?

8 weeks at last rumour.
No idea why this is in the CPU section.

Although, I'd half expect it to be centurion or something, or have AMD given up on that :p?

I would laugh if this gets moved to the graphics section, and then it turns out to be a CPU. :p

Centurion was supposed to do 5Ghz on air, with that there needs to be some thermal / power advancement on it from the FX-8350 as that will only do 4.6 to 4.8Ghz on air, with a 220w TDP it does not look like its any different.

Unless it was given that TDP to give it more overclocking room, IE 140w+ @ 5Ghz and like 6Ghz @ 200w+

Will probably ship with AMD branded water cooler loop. If it ever sees the light of day...

Computex is only a few days away...

Very excited for this, been hearing some great rumours about potential unveilings at Computex this year.

MSI have hinted they will have a Lightning stall, given the no frills 770 LTG has been released this can only mean either 780 Lightning OR prototype/pre-release x970 LTG :D

It won't be any different, it'll just be cherry picked cores.
140W at 5GHZ? I'll have what your smoking pl0x. It'd always have a crazy TDP at 5GHZ, a 2500K would have a rather high one from its stock too.
Bare in mind 5GHZ was never ever ever specified as the base clock, so it's exactly the same as those 4.8GHZ 83XX's just with a 200MHZ boost.

Well yes that's what i'm saying, the FX-9000 will ship at 4.8 (5Ghz Boost) with a water cooler and 0 overclocking room, "5Ghz on air" will be quietly forgotten.

Piledriver is dead, stop messing on with it..... get SR rolled out already.
