I know this has been fly-by posted in the Oculus thread, but I figure that more people would read this here..

According to a report on ABC, an incident that involved two vehicles full of people, who were involved in an unknown criminal activity in the 1000 block of Rosewood Court in Santa Ana. This led to an incident between police and the 26 years old Gerardo Diego Ayala, resulting in a fight with police, a fatal officer involved shooting and eventually led to two of the suspects fleeing in a Dodge Charger with Sanchez at the wheel. While fleeing the scene the Charger collided with two vehicle before ultimately hitting Andrew Scott Reisse.

Andrew Scott Reisse is the 33 year old co-founder of the Oculus VR device, something that had earned him sizeable fame in the tech world thanks to its industry leading VR technology. A man described as a “brilliant mind” by his friends and coworkers.

Such a shame for a fledgeling technology with such potential, I hope that this does not have a damaging effect long term.

My sympathies go, not only to the family of Andrew Scott Reisse, but also to the family of the police officer that was also killed.

I read the title as he'd been killed by a gang, whilst he was trying to escape from the police :o
