Using EVGA Precision X to overclock my 780 and was wondering if the 38mV over volting is safe ?
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.
Yes.
Strictly speaking you can't over volt a 780. The +38mv you have available will still be inside nvidias spec range.
Have overclocked my 780 to the max, the extra 38mv made no difference at all to mine, 1189 core with or without overvolt.
I'd be interested to know if yours is any better.
1189 core with or without overvolt.
with over volting I have it set 1202/3202 all stable and temps are great![]()
Over 30% bump in clock speed for both of you... The GTX 780 seems like a damn good clocker!

Damn I wish I could get that high![]()
I have a HAF-X with the "GPU funnel" to direct air straight to the GPU intake, so who knows. Fingers crossed.
I know I should be gratefull, it's a great card, but we're always looking for more
Seems at though I have good memory chips too, I can get +525 on mem which is over 7Ghz
The HAF X VGA cooler didn't fit with my 7950s so bear in mind!
It did with my 680s though.
Them memory clocks are insane.
I can only get +250 on memory and +180 on core (1160mhz)
