Heatkiller 7970 help

Pheeeewwww. Think it was my monitor playing up. For a while now the dvi connection has been causing me isues like fuzzy screen and going black. Switched the HDMI and all was well so I was worried when I started it in hdmi mode this time and then getting the issues. Rebooted several times but still the same fuzzyness so I plugged in the DVI cable and it was fine. The back to HDMI and been perfect ever since. If it had been the graphics card then surely it would have been fuzzy in the post screen too. Temps are brill. 28 GPU ran heaven vally and temps went up to 34. Cpu sitting at 36 and goes no higher than 44. I felt sick, quickest leak test ever lol. Only downside is I need to get a new soundcard the one that came with my motherboard now no longer fits due to the backplate. Oh well, fancy a better soundcard anyway.

I did really have to push hard on the lower barb on the gpu and in the process heard a slight noise, like a metal noise, whats the chances I've done anything to the slot plate and its connections or unlikely? I was holding onto the gpu to steady it but it did move a little, damn 7/16 tubing! ha ha never come off though. Just loaded up msi afterburner and its saying the fps is 155 but I'm on the desktop? Gpu activity is 0 anf fluctuates to 1-3.

Just when I thought everything was OK my pump goes and dies. I only left the room for 10 mins. Can smell an electrical burn smell. Great. I'm cursed.

Glad you got the block fitted in the end :).
I recently fitted one a few months ago and just wondering what vreg temps everyone is getting? Mine are hitting 70 but core doesn't go over 44. That sound about right?

Thanks mate. Mine were idling at late 20s and gaming they were hitting mid 30's so yours seem pretty high. I was surprised how low mine were.
