Hey guys,

I think its about time to replace my aging i5 750 rig (it never did like being overclocked). I am interested in a Haswell 4770K bundle, but I notice they only have 8gb of ram. This is a problem for me since my new PC will have to last me years, can I pay the extra and buy one with 16gb pre-installed?

many thanks!

8gb will be perfect for gaming as anything more is not really used. If you are running VM's, video editing or using audio packages, the extra RAM will help, but not essential.

A 4770k with 8gb will be spot on.

Hi and thanks for your reply. I realize this is the case at present, but I cannot afford to keep upgrading to a new platform, this really will have to last me 4-5 years.

Also I only play CS:GO (religiously) and some casual games, my main usage is that of a power user as a developer and digital artist.

I would say 16 would be a better choice in that case. If your happy to overclock, maybe some 1866/2133 RAM will be ideal if matched with a 4770k.

I was really hoping to buy one of the OCUK Hawsell Bundles pre-overclocked to 4.6Ghz :D

What's your budget? (I see the only 4.6ghz OC is £500, I'll take it this was the one you were looking at)

You could always contact OCUK and see what they could do for you in terms of adding another 8gb.

YOUR BASKET
1 x "Quasar 265i" Intel Core i7 4770K @ 4.6GHz Overclocked Haswell Gaming PC Bundle £594.95
1 x Standard Build Systems - Approximately 5-7 working days £0
Total : £606.35 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Would be cheaper to OC yourself though.

The £594 one yes, I'm not a hardware pro like you guys so Id rather let OCUK do it for me. Think I will give em a call!
