Is this puncture repairable?

Hi all,

I woke up to a screw in my tyre this morning. I'm especially ****** off because this tyre is 2 months old.

Can this be repaired, or is it too close to the sidewall?

Yeah alloy should be repairable, they'll take the tyre off first so the sidewall being close won't be a problem.

£119.54 for a new one fully fitted from asdatyres.co.uk. Cheapest I can find for a Dunlop 215/40R17 87V XL SP Sportmaxx.

WAY better than using the money for something fun!

When I fitted tyres back in the day that would get a plug where's the actual law on that being unable to be repaired.

Not a dig at anyone just a question.

You can repair it, but it's classified as a "MAJOR" repair rather than a minor one.

Personally I'd repair it and keep it as an emergency spare, a screw hole is hardly going to shed layers on the first corner.

Same.
It's not really a part of the tyre that flexes that much, and all it has now is a 3mm hole that's possibly slightly weaker than the rest, although now most glues tend to be stronger than the material they are fixing.

I think it's using a different process, using a hot vulcanising repair.

I have no idea how it works or how much it costs as I've never done it
