Best card for 2560 x 1440 @ 120hz

The 770 is on par with the 7970, with the 770 winning some games and the 7970 winning others. Both are pretty equal in price but the 7970 does come with a nice game bundle.

Would 2x 570 HD 2560mb handle this? Just flashed my mobo bios to enable SLI and got a 2nd 570 on the way :) After a new case I think I will get a higher res monitor :) (if it will run ok)

Thanks,

G

+1

The thing what makes the 7970 better and in the end faster will be the voltage control on both the core and memory.

Well if the monitor is capable of that why doesn't the manufacturer clock the panel and charge more than double for it as a premium product?

That's what I was thinking.

That's why I was asking, as they aren't actually officially rated to 120Hz.

It wasn't specifically clear at what you were talking about.

But these monitors are very good even for what they're supposed to be, 2560x1440@60Hz, they use the same panels that are in the 27" Dell and Apple displays, just at a much lower price point.

I thought the leonidas/catleap were B-Grade panels?

anyways.. going off-topic

Yeah they were advertised as B- grade panels, I was very fortunate to have no issues with mine though, no dead/stuck pixels, no backlight bleed and it hit 120hz straight away.

I've been running mine at these settings below for over a year now;

It was always a risk, but at the time I thought it was a risk worth taking. The price has more than doubled since I bought it though.

The image quality is just like any other IPS panel, miles better than any TN panel but slightly worst than a PLS panel.

Way off topic, sorry about that. :(

I use a HD7970 with that res but not the Hz & its fine if you want to knock down some setting to get the best FPS but I've just bought a GTX780 ! I'll let you know how it fair's...
