Gaming PC Advice For Total Noob

Hi all, as above im a total noob at this, but my son has asked for a gaming pc for his birthday. im totally lost lol budget is around £500, i know this isnt ideal but want something he can add to when cash becomes more common :D be great if you guys could help us on our first steps.....thanks

Maybe the Case,

An SSD boot drive.

An i5 3550/3570(k)

Something like that. :)

To be honest though that system is a very good start and should handle most things you throw at it. :)
 
I would recommend getting a Z77 board rather than a H77 or B75, otherwise it means you wouldnt really be able to overclock when you eventually slot in a nice i5K chip.
