Hi,

Just booked a 2 week solo trip to California/Nevada/Arizona to do some hiking in National Parks between 8th – 22nd November.

Going to have 3 nights of partying in Vegas – anybody over there at the same time and fancy meeting up and being drinking buddies?

Have been to Vegas several times (with wife!) so not a complete newbie...however this will be my first solo trip :D

Cheers,

I've heard if you hang around by a bar at night over there you will, in time, be approached by several young ladies who will all be willing to be your friend and much more....

Shame, im in Vegas from the 5th -9th of October..

You say you've been a few times? What are 'must-does'? This'll be my first time.

They’re called sex buddies....

You should totally pay for my plane tickets and drinking expenses. In return I'll give you 3 days of what could be construed as fun, an intimate experience with jail, divorce and a bad case of crabs.

Whatever you do, hire a boat on Lake Mead. I think it's probably one of my favourite things. Stick some music on, drift away from it all before jumping straight back into the craziness on the strip.

Seriously?

Your one thing to do in Vegas is to listen to some music floating on a lake?

your wife is letting you go to vegas solo??

Yep...lol...she's great...happily married for just over 16 years.

We have a shed load of Virgin Airmiles that have built up over the years and find it impossible to use them as she is constrained by school holidays (being a teacher). She said go where you want...Boo-yaa!! Return flights costing me £200.

She also knows how much I love hiking in that part of the world; and prob feels a bit guilty as in the past she has forced me to scale back what I wanted to do ie walking 15 miles days, wilderness camping etc.

That being said she was a bit non-plussed when she found out that my close knit circle of pals (mostly all single) agreed the destination for our 40th birthday 'lads holiday' in 2010...2 weeks in Thailand!!! Now that required some delicate diplomacy.

Yes? The Hoover Dam happens to be a part of that lake, which is something a lot of people go to see when they visit Vegas. Few hours on the lake isn't going to hurt, especially considering the fact that there isn't too much to do during the day apart from relax or shop.
