Getting a GTX 770, suggest me a revision and cooling

The silentwings2 are very expensive in some places, but a bit more affordable in others. It's funny that you are worried about noise levels but have probably the loudest cpu air cooler ever :)

For your cpu cooler you should buy 2 Thermalright TY-147 fans. At their lowest speed they are very quiet. They're exactly the same shape as the stock orange ones so will fit without problems.

I know I've said this already but I really think you should skip the aftermarket gpu cooler. It's alright doing that on louder hotter cards but most 770's are quiet and cool enough as it is so wouldn't recommend taking them apart unless its for a watercooling loop. Not to mention the ones where you add your own fans take up so many PCI slots its not even funny.

I doubt the TY-147 would be any quitter then the ones I already have since they are PWM and I have them on low, also I am wanting to put a 140mm in the centre and two 120mm in the sides, as my memory is too high and the 140mm does not fit, although if I bent the braces I might be able to get them in.

Anyway, I am wanting to make my system almost inaudible, so the TY-147 would not make much difference. To put things in perspective, I currently have the Palit Sonic Dual 4870 1GB, and under load it is quite loud.

What RPM are the cpu fans running at on low? Since they have such a high max rpm it still might be pretty high, should show the rpm in bios or motherboard software.

Also what power supply do you have? Some of them can have noisy fans.

It's next to impossible to make a truly inaudible pc, you'll just have to settle for quiet! I've been trying to do the same, once you remove the noise from 1 thing there's always something else whether it be a hdd, coil whine or resonance noise. Our ideas of inaudible might be different though, I want to press the power button and literally not know if its on :D

If you really want your pc as quiet as possible it might be worthwhile upgrading your case to something like a fractal r4/ cooler master silencio/ corsair 550d. The Antec is full of mesh everywhere so noise will escape easily, not to say you can't build a quiet pc in it but it just won't be as quiet as it could be.

I am not sure what rpm my fan is on, I think it's something like 900. My PSU is the AX850 which is passive under about 450W and I have an Antec 900. Also my idea of inaudible is so quite that I don't notice it, like for example a laptop idling.

Also, another thing, I have a GDM-FW900, it has BNC to VGA. I believe that the GTX 770 has display port in which you can get a display port to VGA. So, would display port to VGA to BNC at 2304 x 1440 @80hz be a problem and any recommendations on a display port to VGA adapter?

Been looking though the different GTX 770s and it seems that the Palit Jetstream is very good value, at only £10 over the standard palit. Any comments on this?
