A Heron took 6 of my koi carp and a few other smaller fish from my pond back in the UK. It gave me the evils then gobbled them up before i could get outside. Still don't know how it managed to take off with all those fish inside it.

Herons are an abomination, Only course of action includes a shovel & it's head.

Not really, cormorants are worse.

Seems right what you say Dis, they are a 'Green Status' bird according to the RSPB so they are doing pretty well, which is good! I know they are a pest to outdoor fish keepers, but it is the way of the world and all!
Looking through the RSPB website, it makes you realise how many types of birds there is out there, I want to see a White Tailed Eagle, biggest bird in the UK (Michelle McManus not included) but they are a 'Red Status' animal. They were extinct in the UK due to hunting, but are being reintroduced, so hopefully one day we shall see them in the skies.
Could do with some down here in Eastbourne actually, get those seagulls out of here! Or just control them a bit more at least.
i dont think many inland UK pond owners have real problems with sea diving birds.![]()

now if you're out fishing, and one dives for your bait on your hook, then you got a problem.
