Hi guys,

This is my first attempt at overclocking, having read guides etc, I think I have hit a nice spot with my CPU.

Could one of you kindly just validate my data, and make sure I am not incorrectly assessing what I have?

I'm very happy with the results if so.

I ran Prime95 from 8pm last night, and stopped it around 2pm today:

Excellent speeds at such a low v core! I can only get 4.3GHZ @ 1.28V :(

Is that a fixed 24/7 OC or are you using DVID?

I would be itching to see how fast it goes first :) , after ya have had your fun just kick it back down to 4.5 and set up and offset voltage.

and set up and offset voltage.

So, even if I left it as it is now, would fixed voltage not be a good idea then? I'm unsure the benefits of having offset voltage instead of fixed considering mine is low as is. Unless I'm not understanding something as I am fairly new to this.

Well when your CPU is idle it will drop down to 1600 MHz and at that speed it doesn't need 1.12v and will drop it down to 0.8.

Thanks for this thread, I've learnt a lot about my CPU (Currently 4.4 @ 1.184v) though I havn't done a full manual overclock as let the bios handle an offset rather than fixed. Looks like I might be pushing my chip at the weekend
