Broadband / BT Question

Yeah should be able to upgrade no problem. There is quite a wait between the cab appearing and it being kitted out though - generally 6 months going by people I've spoken to.

ive had a fttc green box 100m from my house for 3 years and i cant get fttc. Not rolling it out to my road yet... figure that out... good thing my VM connection is now good.

EDIT: Was speaking to an engineer recently and they said they're installing the "green cab" in my village fairly soon, would this be a good estimate that Fibre is being installed soon?

Probably not. My local exchange, according to OpenReach, has already been outfitted with fibre 6 months yet beyond that there's been no further installation.

When Infinity was announced my exchange was penned in for "early-mid 2012" which got revised to "early 2013" and now the openreach website just states "accepting orders - check with these providers". None of which are offering fibre

Alright thanks for the help, will email them as well.

@Cosimo, is this what you mean?

That's the one but not too sure what is happening to that one. A few of us had FTTC info appear on that only to see it disappear but the NGA people have said that we will get it soon. :)

Does infinity work at a fou mile ramge?
Th exchanges in northern ireland are all upgraded, yet my father who lives two miles from me cannot get it according to bt, for reasons i didnt undestand and assumd it was due to range.
I get 76 mbit speed.

Infinity due in my street in September 2012, October 2012, December 2012, January 2013, March 2013 and now June 2013.

Let's hope at some point they actually do it..

Distance to the cabinet is what matters on FTTC, not distance to the exchange.

Just because the exchange is being upgraded for fttc doesn't mean you will get it in your village 4 miles away unfortunately.
