Open top car for under £5K?

I fancy getting an open top car. Any suggestions for what to get costing under £5K?

I guess it depends on if I wanted a out and out sports car, or more of an all-rounder.

I've always wanted a 3-series convertible, but then I'd also like a z4.

Honda s2000 is worth a look and you can pick up an early one for £5k these days.

Why you'd get an MX5 over an S2000 is beyond me.

You can get decent ones for £5k now

This really. There's a reasonable amount of choice at 5k, so depends a bit on what you're looking for in a car other than a soft top.

Also bmw 330 cab is worth a look it your in to that sort of car. My old 330 was a great drive after a remap. Just a shame that the old e36 M3s seem to top your budget for a good one.

Not that s2k is sadly 20d insurance group thats why i dont have one :/

S2000 for me if you can stomach the insurance, otherwise running costs are very reasonable for the sort of car it is. I much prefer the facelift (2004 on) version, with the bigger wheels and subtly revised styling it looks far better, but I think most are still above £5k.

A good one is well above what they have to spend at the moment but prices should be down after this summer.
