Hi guys, can anyone suggest a good lcd/LED TV with smooth, judder/ghost free motion? 100hz, 5000hz whatever. Not a fan of IR so no plasma please.

>Will be a PC monitor about 80% of the time (+10% for PC gaming)...
>Will use about 10% as a blu ray display...

Budget is around £600... is this asking too much? Dont care about 3D or smart, no preferred brand/style, new or old.

My mrs wants me to buy her a rubbish £240 argos 42" (instead i suggested a £300 LG42CS460), but then thought of this as an opportunity to get rid of my LG which ghosts with tru motion on... Shes blind and does not notice the ghost!
I have to have it on though, my eyes are very sensitive to judder/slow response.

Thanks for all replies in advance!
*was unsure which topic to put this in as used mainly as a monitor - so please move me if im wrong mr.moderator! have posted elsewhere!*

uummm hate to dissagree with you dude but i am looking for a tv... thats why i just made a post asking about one?? lol

so 90% pc use, you need a pc monitor

seriously no tv will be as good as a monitor for your uses, you can buy a 30" monitor or even go triple display, you can even get korean monitors imported for peanuts that are of high quality.

otherwise just buy a samsung led and complain about the picture not being smooth because you should have bought a monitor in the first place.

dude why are you telling me i need a monitor when i dont... i know the difference. its impractical for me to have a monitor given my setup. i have no problem with motion or movement with pc usage even on my current TV, its just with blu rays. all i need is 60fps/60hz for PC mode thats fine. obviously i dont want a tv with issues for pc use, but ive never had any pc use issues.

sory for not including all this in my post but found with posts being long no1 replies... and didnt expect monitor recomendations when asking for a tv lol.

even a 30 inch monitor would look tiny in my room/setup, its in a bedroom. id have to sit at the end of a double bed if i had a monitor = not comfy, no good for blu rays or if i decide to get a console again and definitely no good for (surround sound) speaker levels as would be nowhere near the centre of the room.
im happy with TV as a display even if the quality would be slightly better for gaming on a monitor, quality has been perfect for pc usage on 3 previous hdtvs, how good does windows/itunes need to look?? lol its just for films i just wanted no ghosting/jerking like i get in oc mode.

Sorry slim01, you have my sympathy. I don't have anything on topic to add I am afraid, but like you, I to am very sensitive to motion judder and am interested if there are any good value deals out there at the moment.

Psycho Sonny, sit down before you hurt yourself.

why dont you try a second hand panasonic plasma?

Not sure a plasma would be the best idea for PC use, a static image for a while could be a problem as it will be used as a PC monitor 80% of the time.

I'm not sure which LCD's have the best motion, can you go to your local currys or JL and have a look at some?

for 90% pc use?

you would have to be mad to even consider it.

the more expensive and newer the tv the better the motion it should have, if made by a top manufacturer.

although decent sized brand new samsung LED's normally command a budget 3-4 times what the OP is looking for.
