Hi guys,

recently installed this cooler in my system and it is doing a great job keeping my 3570k at 4.2ghz cool, doesn't go above 50c during gaming.

The fan however is very loud and seems to spin constantly at 1450rpm. Is there a decent fan out there that I could replace this with? I think I need PWM?

Thanks for any help.

Im using 2x Fractal design R2 1200rpms , they arn't the best fans in the world for a rad but they are much more silent than the stock fan, cheap and keep it nice and cool (My room gets really warm in the day so around 65-68 running prime, 60 or just under when gaming) However i've been thinking about some gentle typhoons (Friend has 2 and they are so quiet and powerful)

You only get 4x screws with the 620, so 2 bolts per fan in opposite corners top+bottom, and if your lucky you might find a screw you could use for the other holes

YOUR BASKET
2 x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm 1450 RPM - 3 Pin £13.99 (£27.98)
Total : £31.90 (includes shipping : £3.26).

Seems a lot for fans but these are the business and are very highly rated by members of OCUK + you can use your mobo to spin them a bit slower (Say 1k rpm) if it really bothers you but for now unplug the fan from the 620 and plug it straight into your mobo, use the bios to run it slower for now

Can you not just turn down the fan speed in the BIOS to a set speed (just a lower one)?

I bought a pair of cheapo Zaward Golf OEM fans (£2.50 each IIRC) and ran them at half speed or something. Noticable cooling boost :)

I now have a pair of Venom Vipers.

But my 620 will get replaced soon anyway as it wont be enough for me when I try to fulfil my 24/7 5GHz goal :D
