I'm just about to order the parts for a i5-4670k haswell build (from overclockers) and the only thing i'm not 100% sure on is a 7950.

I have about 200 ish to spend on a GPU and wonderd what people thoughts were on buying a 7950 with the release of the 8000 imminent?

I don't think the 8000 series will be here until the 25th of October.

I would've thought it would be a little earlier than that? BF4 is out on the 29th so it would make sense for people to have the cards a bit before the release.

Remember that the price will be much higher then the gains in performance you get. Also they will probably be late with cards and High End will come out first, so in my opinion. I would just grab an 7950 and overclock it to 1100/1500.

I would go Gigabyte, HIS or Sapphire.

If you always wait for the next cpu, gpu or what ever is to come out, you will never buy anything... because always something new is coming...

Price to performance wise, I would say this is an excellent time to be buying a 7950. With the Never Settle Reloaded bundle you can pick up a 7950 with a good cooler for slightly over £200.

For around £480 can crossfire 2 of them. With 6 game codes to sell. That is incredible value.

Ocuk will price match HIS 7950 Ice-Q's for £230 as they can be had somewhere in the world for that price. I've also rma'd one dodgy card so currently ive spent £460 and i have 12 games to sell to recoup money. I reckon im looking at around £380, maybe more/less once ive sold the games. Titan beating performance for less than half the price. To quote carley from the valleys, partial!
