Paint recommendations - interior walls

I have a dog that shakes it's big stinking head after a walk and sprays grot up the walls. When I clean this grot off, the paint comes off the wall with it - even if I only use soap and water.

This is really getting on my nerves - are there any non-extortionate paints available that are slightly more water resistant than the stuff that's already on my walls?

Any recommendations welcome!

I remember back when looking at paints that they advertise some as washable and certain types are better than others like eggshell is more washable than basic emulsion etc

Maybe look at diamond eggshell or satin paints, should be harder wearing so you can wipe them down

A vinyl silk emulsion would be the best. It's main use is in kitchens and bathrooms that are subject to a higher moisture count, and it is washable.

It's an upside down new build, so this is for the area around the front door - a reception/hallway if you will.

Cheers for the comments so far.

I did consider VSE, but I doubt it's hard wearing enough, to stand repeated washing.

Use Sandtex smooth masonry in a utility room, it survived 10 years of abuse, was still there when I moved.

Theres one i was using last week in a dairy plant. An acrylic eggshell that is extremely hard wearing, the area it was being applied to is washed with hot water every few hours, so it is a pretty hard wearing paint. Ill see if i can find out what brand it was. Vse is ok for light wiping, but probably not ideal for repeated scrubbing etc.
