I'll be playing these games on a 40" LCD @1080p. Which is my ideal res, I can lower this if its going to be a problem but would prefer the higher res.
(The lcd is a Samsung 3D C750 screen and games looks great on it currently).

I have an i5 3470 with 7770. Highest power usage I've seen is 130w, usually 120 or lower (playing bioshock infinite on very high flawlessly, ultra can get a bit laggy at times)

It could handle it fine, but depends on what amps on 12v rail it has.

What's the name of the psu?

I've done some research on your pc and it seems that the psu doesn't have any pci-e 6 pin connectors.

Even though the 7770/90 use very low power I wouldn't recommend using adapters as I've heard some horror stories. If a psu doesn't have the cables natively then its not designed to power things that require them (although it still may work)

With the current psu you'd be limited to a 7750 without adapters

Right just opened up the Dell Vostro. The PSU's specs: +12VA 17A MAX
Below that is says: +12V rails (+12VA and +12VB ) total continue power will not exceed 216watt.

PSU Dell Inc. Model No. L300PM-01
Manufactured by Liteon Technology Group.
Made in China.

That basically means its a 200w power supply. Wouldn't recommend putting a 7790 in it then as these kind of psu's are usually very cheap and a card like that would be putting the 12 rail at around 75 percent load.

It's either a 7750 or upgrade psu + graphics card. The 7750 is still capable at playing games at 1920 1080 but in most cases you will need to use medium settings on modern games and low in the most demanding ones.

I would rather not play on low settings especially Rome 2 which is top my list of games to get. Might have to get a new PSU anything around the £30 mark you could recommend and also I have know idea about the size of the PSU's how would I know if it would fit in this Vostro 270mt.
Thanks for you help to mate, great information here.

From OCUK's selection I'd definitely get this

It's enough to power your pc with anything up to a gtx 670/7950

A decent 400w will be fine, look around for XFX and Corsair.

I'm running an i5 2400 and 7870XT which uses around 250w from the wall, so 500w is overkill. (Unless you plan on going for dual graphics cards in the future...)
