*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

Thanks Kona, and this is for a pre-unlocked phone, yeah? Don't want to go losing my carrier signal!! :D

Will this lose any of my data? or will I get back what I had before, just rooted? Only 2 weeks inot my relationship with Android and have no ideas on backups/full syncs really :D

Yes, makes no difference if your phone is unbranded.unlocked Ti,.

You won't lose any data - just a straight flash over the top. Sorry for the late reply.

Ah now that jogs my memory. There's a 'security' feature which flashes the stock recovery back over when you reboot. The fix iirc was to flash CWM in Odin without Auto reboot, then pull the battery and go straight into CWM recovery. When you first exit CWM is comes up with:

I think it deletes or renames a couple of files in /system. Maybe a carrier specific thing, I certainly haven't encountered it on my unbranded i9505.

I had that too - I just pressed don't flash stock recovery. Was a bit shocked when I saw it.

not ideal from an app perspective though is it ?

personally with many games >1gb these days -32gb should be the minimum

This is why I've held off buying the phone. Unless it's going to be a stupid amount more, I can't see myself going for the 16GB version.

its frustrating isn't it

If I was going for an Iphone 5 (to replace my Iphone 4) - I'd opt for 64gb as my 32gb is always full

but I can see that with seperate storage for apps, and then media on an SD cards - thats even better - pretty perfect

just that storage space for apps, whats left of it - doesn't seem enough to me

you'd almost get 3x the space for apps with 32gb

Does anyone have an issue with their screen where parts of it seem brighter than others? Mine screen seems to be brighter towards the bottom. This his more noticeable on darker colours.

thanks Photoshop - ooh a google search shows you are mostly right (some apps can't be moved)

great stuff :) didn't realise that

I knew you could via rooting etc - but didn't know you could officially

Don't get too excited though it doesn't move the app data which is what takes up the gigabytes of space in things like games.

Serves people right for playing games on their phone then. Why not Just get a games console and play then on a TV. Same applies to people who watch movies on their phones. Never understood it

Because I can't take this around with all the time. The reason I'm getting a phone like this is because of what can be done with it. Playing games, getting videos off cameras. watching videos etc.

I spend a fair amount of my weekends away from home and my phone and Kindle are the only things that really keep me company.

My phones completely dead had it less then a day.... it wasn't insured off the bat that was suppose to be done via the phone as they were suppose to call me later in the day.

Turned it on worked for few mins dead... wont turn on wont charge wont nothing the frogtards at the store refuse to take it back.

Nice 600 pounds for nothing.

Sorry lol, it's how foldermount works - by creating a symlink that redirects the OS to a different location when looking for a folder. In this case, to a folder on the sd card. I've used foldermount to move my big games on my s4 :)

My phone foiled my plan :(

Bought a HDMI adapter to play some games & emulators on my TV, root the phone and use the PS3 controller wirelessly, cue the emulators running about about 5fps on the Tv :( damnit!

Edit: That was the case using a megadrive emulator, will try another, snes9x worked perfectly, will be interesting to see how others fare!

I can't get use JB Dom or the Rom. Its not the prettiest in a lot of the areas.
I'm going to install CM10.1.

I don't have an SD card as yet so what's the best way of installing CM as I need to wipe data coming from a different rom? Is there a way to install CM without an SD card as wiping data will delete the rom files from the phone...

Anyone?
