Iran was not a democracy before the coup unless you class a democracy as a form of government chosen by a discrete and privileged minority.

Now I know you like all this conspiracy stuff and what not but there is a big difference between:

a) A two party system funded and shaped by the elite but voted for by the people
b) A one party system where a small number of people vote for who they want to represent them.

Surely even someone such as yourself can see the simple difference ...
