Anybody got any sensible and non lethal methods to stop the neighbours dogs from barking?

They are always barking when the neighbours go out, then randomly like at midnight or 5am and such. Is there some sort of whistle or something I can get that they don't like that they can relate to the barking?

Generally I am not too fussed by it but the amount of hassle I get from my girlfriend due to it is worse than the barking!

I bottled the frustration of a noisy dog up until I really shouted at my neighbor fromthe other end of the street ssomething along the lines of "will you shut that ******* thing up, and i can still hear it when my windows are closed!"

He doesn't wave at me any more buy he keeps his dog under control so I'm happy!

They might not know that it's doing it. We fostered a support dog and she would get very anxious if we left the house and would start barking / crying. We thought we'd got her to stop, then our neighbour (politely) informed us that we hadn't!

Complain to the council. They'll send a letter to the owners saying someone has complained. They'll be forced to do something about it

Try talking to your neighbour first to let them know ots bugging you. If the problem still persists you may need to take things further..

THIS.

The number of people asking questions like this on here is amazing, if your neighbour does something that constantly annoys you talk to them about it the worst that will happen is they'll say 'tough luck'.

I also can't understand the number of people saying go straight to the council one of the first things the noise people will ask is have you raised the issue with them? It will take months for the council to do anything and you maybe able to improve the situation in minutes.

Contact your local council, their environmental health section will send you monitoring forms. You fill these out for a few weeks (when its barking etc) and if you return they will monitor.

If its bad enough they will step in.

But as above have said, first thing is to try and have an informal chat with the neighbour.

Failing that....muzzle for your GF to keep her quiet.

Some pretty funny responses there, which could be fun but I don't think would go down well. I was hoping there might be some sort of special dog training whistle or something, I know my mum had some sort of air-horn called Dog Stop but don't know if I could use that in the street at midnight!

We will have to go round and talk to them I guess but I have a feeling they won't be overly responsive, especially as we moved in last year and they have been living there a long while!

Not really a fan of going to the council unless as a last resort.

some Kalms wrapped up in a steak to help it de-stress

DO NOT mix up with pro-plus

Record the Barking & play it through there wall at hours they sleep. Then they can complain to the council about your invisible dog.
