How To Stop Neighbours Dogs From Barking?

Anything you do to dog will probably be ineffective unless owner also does it. Also, if they see you doing anything without consulting them they will likely get defensive.

I worked in environmental health for few years, the legislation purtaining to noise (Environmental Protection Act 1990) is setup to help with exactly this kind of thing. Its not agressive, its conflict resolution and advice with more forceful measures as last resort. Its also annoymous, i.e. they dont tell the owner who complained.

You pay council tax, make use of the services it provides. :)

But like i said, informally talking to them first is your best bet.

Really need to get a similar issue sorted as one of our neighbours has a dog which cries during the day and also at around 11pm. Only problem is finding out which neighbour it is..there's 6 or 7 it could be.

Currently having problems with my neighbour, A guy has moved in with my neighbour and he has 3 hunting dogs. He's been building a kennel and what appears to be a shelter in the back garding at 6:45 onwards for the last 3 weeks now and its driving me mad. The most annoying thing is i can hear him brushing and shuveling dog **** up at that time too which is ongoing and has been on and off for around 3 months. I think im due to hang my head out of the window and say shut the **** up.

Complain to the council. They'll send a letter to the owners saying someone has complained. They'll be forced to do something about it

With respect, that's a real crappy thing to do straight off the bat. The OP should go and talk to the neighbour first. What the council would do is at worst put a monitoring van or device to check for barking noise and go from there.

I disagree, I have a similar problem, guy builds a kennel in his garden and they bark all day when they are at work on an off, I am struggling with the best option, if I knock on his door and have a word there is a strong possibility he will be intransigent ( based on peoples opinions), now do I stupidly tip him off that I am the complainant or just go to council, tbh these people are selfish idiots, I mean do they not even think there is a possibility their dogs might be a nuisance?
I have also took advice from environmental health dude I know and he says if dog owner doesn't cooperate its a nightmare.
