Hello chaps,

I purchased an Iphone5 with a cracked screen and LED bleed for £100, this was a good deal i felt, just wondering if anyone had any advise,

do apple do a part pay replace like they do with the ipods? ie i take them my broken iphone5 pay x amount and they give me a refurbed one?

if i replace the screen myself any solid places to buy from, as bit un sure with ebay?

From what i'm reading you might be best to take it into an apple store and see what they say
It seems that some people are getting a replacement for free
Tell that you dropped it from a short distance or something and its unacceptable that a device should break under these circumstances and see what they say

If you still want the replacement pricing:
Out-of-warranty service fees from an AppleCare email they sent me:

New iPad Wi-Fi, New iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular, all models: £256.44
iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, all models: £206.44
iPad Wi-Fi, iPad Wi-Fi + 3G, all models: £206.44
iPhone 5, all models: £186.44
iPhone 4S, all models: £146.44
iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G, and original, all models: £126.44

It can't be out of warranty as the device isn't a year old, in theory I would have thought you'd be able to get a replacement for free.

Accidental damage wouldn't be covered by warranty. It would be hard to prove a cracked screen would be down to a defect covered by warranty unless there were lots of handsets suffering from something similar.
