Bought one those handheld Halfords ones years ago but it was crap and had no suction power.

Any good suggestions? Could do with one that has a carpet brush as well.

They're all as bad as each other in my experience. Is there any reason why you can't buy a long extension lead and use your household vacuum cleaner?

never get one of these, I got one for a boat I owned last year useless. Unless you spend big bucks!!! much better of with a dustpan + brush or a rubber set of mats you can dust off.

The new Dyson Mini DC34 Animal! (inc. carpet brush)

It's truly wicked, Proper suction for a battery that draws a constant power and will just stop when flat, so no loss of suction, Vac mine out every week now with it and the car is truly spotless.

I love it, granted not got the balls of a big dyson but more than enough really.

15 mins constant power or 6 mins in MAX mode will see you right.

Love it ;)

Does that Dyson have good suction for carpets? Also how do you get it in between seats? Does it not come with a hose?

This review seems to say its still not as good as a full sized vac: http://www.trustedreviews.com/dyson-dc34-animal_Vacuum-Cleaner_review_performance-and-verdict_Page-2

Since originally starting this thread I've read a few reviews of car vacs and they say that they're pretty for sucking up anything other than biscuit crumbs on seats!

Great for carpets really great!

You get 3 accessories with one is a narrow crevice tool, a mini turbine head for carpets and a bit with a soft brush so will combat all areas without fuss!
