Just wondering if the following 2 games would run
ok on my system at 1920x1080p:

Grid 2
Far Cry .

System:
  • Windows 7 64bit
  • i7 @ 3.4ghz
  • 8gigs ram
  • GTX 560ti (1.2gig i think lol )

what level of settings am i looking at?
will they look better than the xbox360 versions because i have
one of them also.

cheers.

560Ti should run pretty much all modern games. You might need to turn down the settings a bit in some of the latest titles, but its still a very capable card and you'll get decent framerates (Geforce Experience will do this for you - as said above).

And yes, a fairly solid PC will be in a different league to the XBox 360 :p

1.2 gig? So, it'a a 560ti 448?

Got a 560Ti on my bench as we speak, could quickly fire up Grid2 and tell you what settings you'll be able to play :D
"Maxed out" with 4xMSAA would be my guess for 50+FPS.

FC3 you'll be good for Medium/High. Or you could just download Nvidia Geforce experience

Edit:
High presets with 4xMSAA = 102FPS average...lol
Ultra presets with 4xMSAA = 36FPS average.
Ultra - Soft shadows and CMAA = 44FPS average.

I personally cannot tell the difference between high and ultra, but that 560ti would be playable on a mixture of the two, and lowered AA. FC3 you'll be looking for Medium/low looking at those benchmarks now :D

thanks for the help all.
I will download this geforce experience programe.
does it preconfigure the graphics settings before you launch a game
or does it pop up in game?
cheers.

After you launch the program and it scans your system it will show the recommended settings. If you would like to use the settings just click optimize and play! :)
