Thanks guys. The second two seem really similar. Got no idea really about the differences

The graphics card i chose is faster and the monitor is cheaper because it doesnt have a hdmi input .

I think the Motherboard is Micky's spec is voltage locked, as the Z77 H**'s were..

The 7870 is faster...

A CPU cooler like the one in my spec is needed to achieve a good overclock. :)

So as I understand it Mickys is perhaps better at factory settings but maybe not so good for overclocking. I think that might be better for someone new to this. :)

Thanks again.

Something like that perhaps fella. I prefer the Asgard to the Merc case. Has an extra fan and a USB3 port. You can add a heatsink later on Doomed showed they don't have to be expensive....sadly you just missed out on a free Bequiet cooler with this mobo :(

Case wise I could never recommend buying the Zalman z9, Cheep metal and the LED readout has been known to break in a short time. Flat mate has the same case and the LED display failed in about 4 months. Too much of a budget OEM if you ask me.

For the same price I would consider the Bitfenix Shinobi. With or without window.
It also has USB 3 ports where as the Zalman does not. Window version of the Shinobi also includes tool less mounts non window does not.

I have the Z9 Plus. Had it donkeys and everything still works fine (used it for a lot of builds and they are still ok too), I did however suggest the Z9 U3 which is the updated version with USB3 ports and a proper side window rather than mostly mesh on the Plus.

The "core Shinobi" has NO fans supplied or the badge and grills you should have just spec'd the normal windowed case which has two fans supplied and is the same price. That said the front venting isn't great although it can take larger GPUs (up to 320mm vs 295mm on the Z9), I would still prefer the U3 with a USB3 header adapter for the mobo as the Zalman chassis is packed with kit. The Corsair 300R is also worth a look I suppose.

Yes I would rather get the MSI Frozr 7950, it's clocked faster and has a better cooler to help OC it for a start. I've included a 7870 here but honestly I'd suggest he scouts out a VTX3D 7870XT Black Boosted Edition instead (OCuk have only just recently stopped stocking it). That's a Tahiti core so is closely related to a 7950, OC it and it trades blows with a stock 7950 (serious bang for buck), I've added the Black Knight just to give an idea of the total cost

Didn't notice you had spec'd the U3 Version. Good to keep in mind that the shinobi "core" comes comes with no fans. The Z9 my flat mate has is the one with the mesh on the side too, I guess some people do alright with the case then. 300R is a good choice too.

Here's the non 'core' shinobi case inc 2 fans. (cheers for pointing that out honosuseri)
