4k hot hatch... where would your money go?

I do enjoy the stench of resentment and contempt within your posts.

As I enjoy your knowledgeable and helpful posts, oh wait

Okay all I can do is tell you the parkers number is incorrect.

There are some ignorant people on here who will refuse to listen to first hand experience, neither of us own the car anymore yet still vouch for them I would have bought another if a decent one popped up to replace my FN2

Have you ever owned and driven a hot hatch?

More to the point as someone already answered with one of them, have you?

I didn't think the Corolla was that bad, i'd have one over a Fiesta ST if only for the more interesting engine and jap reliability.

I'm not that fond of the Fiesta personally, a lad i work with has one and he's getting rid of it at the moment as he finds it very tiring on motorways with only 5 gears and not great economy for the performance you get from it, he gets around 30 mpg combined.

for suggestions you may scrape a Clio 197 now? Not amazing economy, we're getting 30~ combined out of ours but at least it has the performance to back it up.

Problem is, it's hard to take owners / ex-owners reviews too seriously, particularly when the car gets poor reviews in the motoring press.

The above just compounds the view held by many that those praising the car are simply fanboys.

The CTR sold by the bucketload, the T-Sport didn't, says it all really.

The MK4 1.8t GTI filled a void in the hot hatch market, it offered a better badge and build quality than the Honda, combined with a long line of heritage and history.

As a package it was a good car.

Depends what you want, badge, performance, reliability?

Can't go wrong with a Subie though. Reliable and built like tanks. Awesome machines. I'm after a Turbo version at the moment, something to have for weekends.

If you get one, get a Wagon.

Built like tanks? Papier mache tanks presumably?
