Just got myself a new gigabyte Z87MX-D3H and from what I can understand I should be able to control the cpu and cpu opt fan independently, so that I can plug my antec kuhler pump into the opt fan header to run at full speed and the fan into the cpu fan header and allow pwm to control the speed of the fan

as show on this page http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4490#ov

However for the life me I if I adjust the speed using easytune it changes both fans?

Cant see anything obvious in the bios

the PWM function controls both fans at the same time so basically when your CPU heats up, both will increase RPM to keep it cool.

FYI for others out there, i have a z87 ud4 and it comes with:

4 pin CPU fan
4 pin CPU opt fan
4 pin sysfan 1
4 pin sysfan 2
4 pin sysfan 3
3 pin sysfan 4

The first 2 CPU fans are controlled by PWM 1
Sys fan 1 is controlled by PWM 2
Sys fan 2/3 are controlled by PWM 3
sys fan 4 is 3 pin so will go at full speed all the time.

You can confirm this in your bios.

my bad for misreading it, I guess i'll use another header then, obviously need the pump at 100% all the time but not the fan
