I wont quote the whole article, you can read it yourselves as it is too large for a post in my opinion.

The gist however is that two white Americans were planing to kill "enemies of the United States and Israel", with an "X-ray weapon"...what that weapon consisted of is obviously not in the report.

Here are some quotations that i find interesting.

But a synagogue, a Jewish organisation and the Ku Klux Klan alerted police after Mr Crawford approached them."

When did the Ku Klux Klan become such upstanding members of society?

Mr Crawford is said to have told an undercover investigator that "radiation poisoning is a beautiful thing".

...

I have no idea what to say to this, in all likelihood they would have killed themselves before they harmed anyone else from reading this, but it doesn't seem to be a major news story in the US, perhaps it doesn't fit their narrative or its such a pathetic attempt that they want to be associated as little as possible with it.

Who knows, anyone have any opinions on this?

Why is it confusing that Jews and bigots might not want to be associated with X-ray gun wielding loons? I mean, WHY? I honestly don't know :p

Also, it's not major news the same way my nuclear fusion lab isn't making the news... I'm just a nut

They are not muslims plotting against America so it's clearly being kept out of the limelight.

So being on CNN, USA Today not to mention dozens more, all over the internet and our humble BBC... What do CT types want? Sky writing?

haha, awesome story

Nutbars attempt to create something for which they,

a) couldnt procure the components to make, and
b) wouldnt fit in a vehicle and even if it did,
c) wouldnt produce the effect they desired without the target remaining in proximity for extensive periods of time, like days...

alarm bells are ringing.

It does seem overly odd for a plot, still what does it mean for western terrorists who aren't insane or dumb as gravy?

How does it compare to the Tsarnaev (got it right first time...) brothers and the FBI's crappy handling of that?

Whatever it means (probably nothing substantial enough to warrant much discussion) this is still quite funny either way.

You don't need a radioactive source to emit x-rays. You just need a high DC voltage (maybe a constant potential generator) passing through a filament across to the anode made from a high atomic number/high melting point metal such as tungsten... Can be made with components that don't require licenses etc.

A xray tube and transformers would fit in a van, just the energy source would need to be plugged into a high voltage supply.

xray radiation would have to be very high to yield deterministic effects rather than stochastic and in any case would not make a good weapon as you may make someone develop a tumour in 30 years is a bit of a long winded way of taking someone down.

Somewhere in Nevada, an operative in a listening station is jotting your name down on a list

but it doesn't seem to be a major news story in the US

The Jews own the US media. The extremists in the story support Israel, provng that extremism exists on both sides, this is something the zionists don't want the average American to know.
