Dentists...

My current dentist is great, she is really nice and professional and the usual dental nurse/assistant is possibly the nicest person I have ever met.

When I was a kid however my dentist was this really tall, thin bloke who used to wear little round glasses and had a really deep voice, I was petrified of him. I also had a problem with overcrowding of teeth so every time I went i used to have to get teeth removed and he insisted on using the gas... Many hazy memories of coming too throwing up in a little dish with gauze stuffed in my bloody mouth.

My dentist which I used to go see when i was a youth fits this description but instead of having a deep voice, he had a really camp voice. He used to scare the bejesus out of me! :p

I've just come back from the dentist, the first time I've been for 9 years :o but only need 1 filling and a bit of a clean. :D

I don't hate dentisits per say, I just hate bad dentists.

I went for a filling about a year ago and my dentist cracked my tooth he was filling, you could feel that there was a crack down the side of the tooth, roll on 6 months later and the entire side of my tooth came away and keft all the nerves exposed

Went back to the dentist for him to tell me they will have to remove the tooth and charge me £75 for the privelage!

I used to have a great dentist in the states, but when I went to an NHS dentist over here he caused me so much pain just cleaning my teeth that I haven't gone for a checkup in 2 years. I keep meaning to, but the memory of that guy just puts me off.

So yeah, I feel ya OP. One thing that has helped my dental health massively was picking up an electric toothbrush. Highly recommend it if you haven't got one.
