Got a Gigabyte 7950 WFx3 and it's fantastic, superb performance and it stays cool.

I'm just curious about the fans turning off and switching back on momentarily when the machine is idle and the display has turned off.

Is this a powersaving feature on these cards? Setting display to never turn off keeps the fans at a steady 30% and I have no issue with the card in gaming or general use, just curious if this is normal :)

Cheers.

ULPS and Zero Core, working as intended. Basically means the card uses no power at all when idle. Very handy energy saving feature. If you want to disable it you can with msi afterburner or his tool and tick disable ULPS.

Nice one, just wondered because I couldn't find anything about such a feature myself.

edit: can't seem to find ULPS in Afterburner 2.3.1

I'm using default fan profile and high performance in Windows Power Options.
