Cotswolds or Peak District Weekend Stay?

Want to go for a mini break with the mrs, thought so many places in UK and one that ive always wanted to visit is the Cotswolds or Peak/Lake districts

Can anyone recommend a particular location? a nearby town will be nice to get some grub and a few pints etc

Love the Cotwolds. I highly recommend the town of Blockley. Picture-postcard setting and plenty of nice walks.
