Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

"To be honest", I think you must have blinkers on. The "bad luck" death bug was abundant in the alpha, through the beta and into release, some patches seemed to clear it up to an extent but there's still certain maps and scenarios that can sometimes trigger it.

Do a Google on "bad luck bf3 death" and you'll see there's still people that are saying its randomly killing them.

Are we talking Alpha Beta or the "unpolished turd " you think it is now ?

I never played the alpha or beta so I'm only commenting on how the game stands now. I play on average 5 hours a day most days and have never encountered The "bad luck" death bug only from what i already stated that wasnt a bug.

All 3, and for the most part it is a bug, dice have been quizzed on this before and never gave an answer from what I can recall, however its safe to say that if you're running along and just die, try climbing up on rocks and just die, or piloting a jet then just die its more than likely a bug. If a jeep or something runs over you more often than not you'll hear it or see it rolling over you as you die.

There was a vid on YouTube a while back showing mad instances of this, dice did reduce it to an extent but it still rears its head on some scenarios. Just like the other bug where you can enter buildings and your character sinks into it and runs along buried up to the waist in the floor, that still occasionally occurs.

What ping servers you playing on ? I must say ive never encountered this.

yeah but 1 or 2 per day you don't understand ?

The only ones I have are not bugs, they are when you fall off buildings, walk into fire, get run over by your own helicopter (don't ask :D) etc..

I always thought the bad luck bug was the equivalent of the killed by frostbite 2.0 from bfbc2, when you were killed by the environment.

Just seems random as to what causes it, Dice seems to have linked it more to being rammed or ran over or things of that nature, but in a lot of cases you can literally be running along and just die out of the blue. When the game was just released the bug was far more prevalent than it is now, but still occurs. Sometimes you will be trying to jump up on rocks on a level and it can happen, other times hopping over a wall, etc. Just basically situations where you're in no danger of being killed by enemies then suddenly you drop.

it is mostly bugs never solved probably so rare or dont warrant the man hrs / money to fix.

ive had it myself vaulting in mid air ,running down street then just die all sorts.

gotta love the vault over something to then be accelerated to 100mph down the road only to face plant a wall and suicide xD

Its the small jumps that always get me raging. Jump from a step bad luck, open your shute and fall on a sponge, bad luck. Dice are bit like codemasters, they seem to import the issues that they fix in old games.

Seen a few people mention that in BF4 there's the possibility of aircraft having a limited amount of countermeasures. That would put an interesting twist on the gameplay considering the game right now is nothing but rape from the skies. Not holding my breath though, knowing Dice if the jet jockeys cry about it then it'll be changed, can't have those pour souls not totally dominate every map there's a jet on can we?

Hope to god that they have nerfed the aircraft big time!

Stupidly over powered in BF3 and what's even more annoying is that there is nothing you can do when your team don't help to take them down at all, stingers are virtually useless, only good way of dealing with them is with tanks shells...... and then when the jets take any damage at all, they just fly way of and wait for regen or use the fire extinguisher......

One of the main reasons that I avoid aircraft based maps now, especially ones where you have hardly any cover i.e. wake island.

I miss my AT4 from BC 2, helis in BF 3 wouldn't stand a chance if I had that! :p :(

And yup no doubt that will happen if what you said is true, the jet, heli whores who spend their entire game play time in the aircraft will cry and cry when/if they get shot down too easily and DICE will go and do their usual balance tweak i.e. buff it to the other end of the stick and then be op again......
