NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 launches June 25

ASUS GeForce GTX 760 DirectCU II OC Listed

European price-aggregator Geizhals.at sniffed out at least two retailers listing the upcoming ASUS GeForce GTX 760 DirectCU II OC graphics card. The card is priced at 316.5€ on average, including VAT and shipping; and 264€ excluding them. While the card itself isn't pictured by either store, specifications posted by Geizhals appear to check out with Monday's leaks. The card is based on a 28 nm GK104 silicon, with 1,152 CUDA cores, 96 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and a 256-bit wide memory interface holding 2 GB of memory. The way Geizhals describes it, the card features a dual-slot DirectCU II cooler. We don't expect it to look much different from the one that cools DirectCU II versions of GTX 660 Ti or GTX 670. The 264€ pre-VAT pricing of this non-reference design, factory-overclocked card suggests that most GTX 760 cards should be priced in the neighborhood of US $250 to $300.

Even though we all understand what you mean and I do agree with you, is it really any worse than the stingy red man STILL offering the same 7950 performance at around the £230 price point after 18 months.
But 7950 is a last gen card though, and AMD still offer decent game bundles to make them better value. I mean for Nvidia to be banging the drum of "new gen" graphic card, if it still to be poorer in the price to performance comparison against a card from last gen, then it is frankly quite embarrassing.

If anything, Nvidia should have had a card at the £230 that's better price to performance ratio than the 7950, to make the 7950 a pointless buy at that price and forces them to slash price further. However at the way things currently are, AMD doesn't even have to worry about losing the price to performance crown, unless the GTX760 really is coming in at sub £200, which is very unlikely.

Um until AMD replace it is a currant generation card, and it has been for 18 months now.

Totally agree with you on what it looks like Nvidia have done with the 760, but if we are going to complain at them for not moving the bar forward much in 12 months, then in the same vain we have to moan at AMD for not moving the bar at all in 18 months.

There is no need for AMD to respond yet, the performance at a given price point has changed little, blame Nvidia for not providing a strong enough challenge to AMD.

They are quite happy to sit back and wait to ride the BF4 hype.

The thing is...judging from the spec and the likely price of the 760 (£240-£270), it should really had been just launched 7 months ago as a "GTX665" at this price around same time of the launch of the GTX660/GTX660Ti (GTX660 £160-£170, GTX660Ti £230-£240, GTX665 £240-£270).

7970 Ghz ed, 7950 Boost ed, 7870 Ghz edition, each moved the bar (or at least responded to Nvidia moving it). And lets not forget that AMD's driver improvements has raised the bar too. We went from the HD7970 struggling to beat the GTX670 to the HD7950-B almost matching the GTX670 & the HD7970-GE beating the GTX680...

Totally agree that the 760 in the leaks doesn't seem to be any good considering what they could have done.

Tbh, a bit of stability probably isn't too bad a thing. It allows the big guys to optimise their drivers, and the manufacturers to try something a bit different with cooling, overclocking, etc.

Sure, it's a bit annoying for enthusiasts that nothing is moving on and that there aren't new shineys to play with, but at least it saves a bit of cash on constant/regular upgrades.

I am glad you brought this it up.:D

Before I watercooled the cards I made a point of picking this particular case so that the cards were at the top of the case with good air flow around them to help in avoiding any possibility of them throttling.

Now they are on water it does not really matter where in the case they are.

I personally think they look better that way or on there side :D

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 Specifications Disclosed

The information was sourced and publicized by the VideoCardz.com crew on Tuesday, confirming some previous leaks and refuting others. The new GeForce GTX 760 employs the same reference design NVIDIA used for its previous generation cards (GTX 670, GTX 660 Ti, GTX 660 and GTX 650 Ti) and is designed to replace the GTX 660 Ti in NVIDIA's current lineup. The card employs a cut down version of the GK 104 GPU, with 1152 CUDA Cores, 96 TMUs and 32 ROPs. With a base clock of 980 Mhz and a boost value of 53 Mhz, for a maximum out of the box frequency of 1033 Mhz, the new card supports GPU Boost 2.0 which is a temperature controlled feature (the cooler the chip the higher the clocks). Stock memory size will be 2 GB and reference memory clocks were set at 1502 Mhz, for a slightly over 6 Ghz effective speed. A 256-bit wide memory bus is employed to offer 192 GB/s of memory bandwidth at stock clocks. TDP is set at 170W for the new card, requiring two 6-pin PCIe connectors

Also relevant to the topic is another piece of information unveiled along with the above mentioned specifications, the fact that the GeForce GTX 760 will complete NVIDIA's portfolio for the coming months. NVIDIA presumably awaiting AMD's move before launching any more GeForce products of its own. AMD, in turn, being expected to bring out the Radeon HD 8000 Sea Islands cards in September.

MSI GeForce GTX 760 Twin Frozr OC Gaming Preview

Following the previous GeForce GTX 760 specs disclosure, we now have an MSI custom design version unveiled. Looking very similar to its higher end sibling, the GTX 770, MSI's GTX 760 Gaming employs a custom design PCB, sporting Military Class III components. The card is equipped with the Twin Frozr IV Cooler, a dual slot, dual fan solution featuring MSI's Dust Removal technology, a feature that sees the fans spin in reverse at start-up. The card employs the previously detailed GK 104-225 GPU, featuring 1152 CUDA Cores, 96 TMUs and 32 ROPs. Memory is clocked the same as in the case of NVIDIA's reference design, 6008 Mhz effective speed over a 256-bit bus, for a memory bandwidth of 192 GB/s. However, the GPU receives a hefty factory overclock, boasting a base clock of 1085 Mhz and a boost clock of 1150 Mhz. MSI's new GeForce GTX 760 Gaming card is expected to cost around $/€ 300.

MSI GeForce GTX 760 Gaming full specifications:

•Base Clock: 1085 MHz
•Boost Clock: 1150 MHz
•Memory Clock: 6008 MHz
•CUDA Cores: 1152
•Bus Type: PCI-E 3.0
•Memory Spec: 2048 MB GDDR5
•Memory Bit Width: 256-Bit
•Height: 126 mm

So from the specs of it the GTX 760 is almost as fast as GTX 670 ?. I see the GTX 670 may have the edge in some more shader intensive games.

Price dependant, this could be the ideal card for those who game @ 1080P. Stomping on a 7950BE and if it is the same price as a 7950, AMD's Price per performance card has some competition :)
